Michele Appendino

michele-appendinoGraduated from Polytechnic of Turin in Italy with an Electronics Engineering degree; MBA from INSEAD business school. Michele was Senior Engagement Manager with McKinsey & Company. Michele co‐founded Net Partners Ventures in 1997, the first venture capital company in Europe focusing exclusively on internet companies (notable investments: Yoox, Mutui Online, Edreams).
In 2005, he founded A.M.E. Ventures, which has 15 minority investments and a controlling stake in Solar Ventures, a leading developer and operator of PV power plants active mainly in Italy (Italian plants sold partly to Mitsubishi in 2013 and to Sonnedix in 2016) and in MENA and Southeast Asia. Today Solar Ventures is developing a pipeline of close to 1 Gwp of projects in market parity
in Italy and Spain.

In 2002 he was named a Global Leader of Tomorrow at the World Economic Forum. Michele is also active in social and impacts investments, and in this area is the founder of Behind Energy.com, Telling the Truth about Energy.
