Launched in 2013, “Italy Meets the United States of America” New York series evolved into “The International Business Exchange. Investing in Italy and a new Europe”. It is an annual independent gathering for a business dialogue across the Atlantic.
Every year in New York leaders from industry and government together with US executives and private equity — that have invested successfully in Italy — discuss the opportunities for investments.
In 2016, the Italian Business & Investment Initiative has launched the Italian chapter.
Despite all the hype about the Italian sound and according to the United States Census Bureau, Italy’s export to the US were US$45 billion in 2016 while US Foreign Direct Investments to Italy were US$ 300 million in 2015 (Italy ranking 38th as US destination) while FDI to the US from Italy hit an all-time-high of US$ 7.3 billion (Source: Bureau of Economic Analysis).
As Italy does not have any communication media in English from Italy, this gathering is an opportunity to have an educated view on Italy’s and Europe’s business opportunities.
This initiative enjoys the support of leading Italian and US companies and has as co-promoters the Action Institute, American Chamber of Commerce in Italy, Aspen Institute, the America Study Center, US-Italy Council and Bocconi University.
